Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S26 Ultra in early 2026, still with the same 5,000 mAh battery as its predecessors. Even though the S26 Ultra is expected to have a bigger 6.89-inch screen, the battery size may stay the same. Users may rely on improved chip and software efficiency to maintain battery life.

Tipster Ice Universe confirmed the S26 Ultra will stick with a 5,000 mAh battery, marking the sixth straight year without an upgrade after the Galaxy S20 Ultra first introduced this capacity in 2020.

Performance Depends on Optimisation

While the Galaxy S25 Ultra already offered good battery life, Samsung aims to match or improve this through a more power-efficient chip. The S26 Ultra is rumoured to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 processor built on a 3 nm process, promising better energy efficiency and longer screen time despite the unchanged battery.

Upgraded Camera and Sleek Design

The latest leaks suggest a slimmer bezel design and a bigger 6.89‑inch display. The S26 Ultra might come with a new 200 MP main camera from Sony, which is better than the one in the S25 Ultra and could give clearer and more detailed photos.

Bottom Line

Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra may not boost its battery capacity, staying at 5,000 mAh. But enhanced hardware and software tweaks could still deliver strong battery life. Add a bigger screen and improved camera, and this flagship may offer real value beyond just a bigger battery.
